Throughout every stage of our operations, we prioritize sustainability and implement environmentally friendly solutions to ensure that Latvia’s forests are preserved for future generations.
Environment
Our work is deeply connected to nature, making environmental sustainability one of our top priorities. We organize forest activities in a way that does not significantly threaten other forest uses. Environmental care is integrated into every step — from the responsible disposal of used oil and tyres to maintaining a clean working environment and making long-term forestry decisions. RAIRU ensures that Latvia remains clean, well-managed, and accessible for future generations.
Society
The future’s value lies not only in sustainable forests but also in an informed and educated society.
We aim to continue Latvia’s forestry traditions and educate young people about the significance of sustainable forestry. RAIRU collaborates with young professionals in the forest sector, particularly students. For many years, we have partnered with Ogre Technical College, offering future professionals hands-on experience with our company’s equipment and insights into the importance of responsible forestry. RAIRU contributes to society’s education by working with children and young people, planting new forests in Vidzeme, and introducing them to the forestry sector through field trips and events designed to share practical experiences.

We make long-term decisions that promote the sustainable management of forest resources, ensuring that Latvia remains green, clean, and accessible to future generations.
Our work’s quality and commitment to sustainable forestry are upheld by the certificates RAIRU holds: PEFC, SBP, and FSC.
SBP (Sustainable Biomass Program) – RAIRU wood chips are SBP-certified, guaranteeing that they are legally and sustainably sourced. This certification includes verified energy and carbon data for the entire cycle, from biomass producer to end-user, enabling accurate carbon emissions calculations.
PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) – A globally recognized forest certification standard that ensures our forest resources are responsibly sourced, preserving biodiversity and contributing to sustainable forestry.
FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) – An internationally recognized forest management standard that certifies the timber materials we use are sourced from well-managed forests, ensuring a balance between social responsibility, environmental protection, and economic viability.
By adhering to these certifications, we guarantee that our products and services are third-party audited and reflect our commitment to environmental and social care. Each of these certifications embodies RAIRU’s dedication to building a sustainable future.
